Chiropractic is dangerous:

INCORRECT!
FICTION! Like any health care option there is a degree of risk involved with chiropractic, however it is one of the safest forms of physical medicine available. Chiropractors enjoy some of the lowest malpractice insurance premiums in the health care industry because people do not get injured that often. The most common side effect of an adjustment is soreness (experienced by 25% of patients) and this typically lasts from a few seconds to a few hours. Statistically, the most dangerous part of a chiropractic visit is traveling to the clinic. Dr. Young will go over any risks that you may face before rendering care so that you can make informed decisions about your treatment.
Chiropractors want to see you over and over again:

FACT! Whether you are being seen to manage an injury or for wellness care, the typical chiropractic treatment plan involves a series of visits. A series of visits will allow the doctor to have a good understanding of the patterns that your body goes through and to effectively manage the healing process. Many patients find great benefit from monthly visits to ensure that they are living with optimal spinal health. So yes, Dr. Young will likely recommend a series of treatments but this is because he wants you to have the best possible chance at recovering and maintaining optimal health.

Chiropractic is expensive:

INCORRECT!
FICTION! When chiropractic is compared to some alternatives it can be significantly less expensive to receive chiropractic care. A series of chiropractic treatments can be much less expensive than surgeries or expensive prescription drugs. One of the reasons for this is that chiropractic is efficient, drug-free, non-surgical health care that will encourage you to lead a healthier life style. Regular chiropractic wellness care will also allow us to identify conditions that may arise early when they are treated more easily and with less cost.
Chiropractors are “quacks” and not real doctors:

INCORRECT!
FICTION! In the State of Oregon Chiropractors are considered “Portal of Entry” health care providers similar to a general practitioner. While the focus of a chiropractor is different, the professional standing is the same. To become licensed as a Chiropractic Physician one must complete about 5,000 hours of education at a nationally accredited chiropractic college, pass four national board certification exams, and pass state board examinations. Dr. Young is a graduate of Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, OR where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Human Biology and his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degrees. Western States is the world’s premiere evidence-based chiropractic college focusing on integrated health care approaches and practice based on the latest in scientific research.

The chiropractic approach also utilizes tools such as nutrition counseling, life style coaching, therapeutic and rehabilitative exercise and weight management to help you achieve optimal health. Dr. Young is prepared to treat most neuromusculoskeletal (that’s nerves, muscles, joints, ligaments, bones, etc.) conditions that you may have.
Chiropractic is good for kids:

FACT! Dr. Young received his very first chiropractic adjustment when he was just 3 days old. Chiropractic is being used across the world to help children to grow up healthy and free of muscle imbalance, spinal conditions, and growing pains. One of the many reasons to have an infant under the care of a chiropractor is to help deal with the effects of birth trauma which may result even from C-section deliveries. Body of Health is a child-friendly environment where kids come to play as they are treated.
